LEC - Ecotones and ecosystems hike

Event Date(s)

Begins: May 29, 2021 9:00 am
Ends: May 29, 2021 10:00 am

An ecotone is a transitional area between two ecological communities; one example is a shift from a terrestrial to an aquatic ecosystem. Join LEC staff on a hike through Lyonia Preserve and learn how these overlapping areas are some of the richest areas of biodiversity. Staff will discuss the plants and animal species that use ecotones and the impacts of the “edge effect.”

Participation is limited to 10 persons to allow for social distancing. Reservations are required; call 386-789-7207, ext. 21028.

Meet at Lyonia Environmental Center, 2150 Eustace Ave., Deltona.
