Ends: July 13, 2019 2:00 pm

From American goldfinches to yellow-rumped warblers, Florida has a large variety of birds that can pop up in your backyard.

Learn how to identify the “usual suspects” as local author Marcia Meara kicks off a three-part Backyard Birds series at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at DeBary Hall Historic Site, 198 Sunrise Blvd.

Meara will offer tips on identifying common and uncommon feathered visitors, including the migratory species that pass through Volusia County each spring and fall. She’ll also share facts about behavior and nesting and explain how to make your yard bird friendly. A Q-and-A session will follow her presentation

Reservations are not required for this free program. For more information, contact Tracy Mestre at 386-668-3840 or tmestre@volusia.org.
