Find half-cent sales tax projects with map
Posted On: April 16, 2019
Volusia County’s Public Works Department has developed an interactive map to provide information about city and county projects for the proposed half-cent sales tax initiative. To view the map, go to www.volusia.org/salestax and scroll down to “interactive map.”
The map, which allows users to enter their address in the search bar, provides details of the proposed city and county projects within a five-mile radius.
The half-cent sales tax, if adopted, will provide funding for road and water quality projects.
Ballots will be mailed to all registered voters in Volusia County on May 1. They must be returned in the postage-paid envelope or delivered to the Supervisor of Elections office in DeLand by 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 21. Ballots can also be dropped off in secured mail ballot collection boxes at every city and town hall in Volusia County by May 20. If the envelope is not signed, it will not count. An informational video by Supervisor of Elections Lisa Lewis can be viewed on the sales tax webpage.
The public can learn more about the proposed projects by attending an upcoming public information meeting. A calendar listing is available on the county’s website, www.volusia.org/salestax.
