Lunch and a free movie – the perfect combination. You bring your lunch, and the DeLand Regional Library will take care of the rest with a showing of the classic film “Steel Magnolias.”
Sack lunch cinema will get underway at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23. Pack a lunch and dine while watching six icons of the silver screen – Sally Field, Dolly Parton, Shirley MacLaine, Daryl Hannah, Olympia Dukakis and Julia Roberts – come together in this hilarious and heartwarming story of family, strength in women and big southern hair.
This will be a 30th anniversary screening of the film, marking its 1989 theater release. “Steel Magnolias” is rated PG and runs 118 minutes.
The library is open seven days a week at 130 E. Howry Ave. Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
