The New Smyrna Beach Regional Library will be serving up a fusion of classical, flamenco, tango and Latin American rhythms with a performance by classical guitarist Alejandro Rowinsky. The free concert will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at the library, 1001 S. Dixie Freeway.
Born in South America, Rowinsky’s versatile repertoire spans centuries of popular music with a blend of the old and his unique twist on the new, including influences from the renaissance, baroque, classical and romantic eras as well as pop and rock – everything from Bach to the Beatles. He also has regularly performed on the Cinderella Castle stage at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando and was nominated in 2014 for the Los Angeles Music Awards’ guitarist of the year. An accomplished composer as well, Rowinsky skillfully transforms any song into an instrumental tune for the guitar by retaining its familiar melody and harmony with a charming elegance that is beautifully suited for any occasion.
Registration isn’t required to attend the concert. For more information, please call 386-424-2910, option 4.
