Nothing bellows Christmas like rich organ music. The organ has been described as one of the most complex of mechanical instruments developed before the Industrial Revolution. Mozart called it the king of instruments.
Local organist and vocalist Jonathan Brady will perform holiday classics from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle. He will also present standards from the 1950s through 1970s.
Brady, originally from Maryland, has been a professional jazz organist and singer since age 13. Before moving to Florida in 1982, he played for President Jimmy Carter's inauguration party in Washington, D.C., and on many occasions for Henry Kissinger and the U.S. Naval Air Force at Andrews Air Force Base.
Registration is not required for this free concert, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Port Orange Regional Library. For more information, call 386-322-5152, option 4.
