Local storyteller Cheryl Floyd will share holiday stories from her Cajun heritage, as well as folklore from other cultures, from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the DeLand Regional Library, 130 E. Howry Ave.
Her work is filled with the richness of southern Louisiana, where she enjoyed listening to Cajun stories and music. Woven into her programs are the gathered memories of sitting on front porches, under the shadow of a raised quilt frame, at kitchen tables or in the local dance halls. As her brothers played music, she fell in love with the rhythm of words.
Registration is not required for this free program. For more information, call the library at 386-822-6430, ext. 20762.
