County Council plans special meeting

The Volusia County Council will hold a special meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, in the Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center, 123 W. Indiana Ave., DeLand, to discuss COVID-19 related matters, which may include, but are not be limited to, updates on county activities, the adoption or approval of emergency ordinances, contracts, resolutions and directives; consideration of COVID-19 related economic development grant and accompanying resolutions and documents; and a budget workshop.
Public participation and comments are only for matters on the agenda and will be heard at the beginning of the meeting. During this time of extraordinary circumstances dealing with the declared emergency associated with COVID-19, Volusia County promotes in-person public attendance with arrangements made for appropriate social distancing. Space may be limited to ensure that persons may participate in a space that readily allows for appropriate social distancing. These steps are being taken consistent with the goals of the Governor’s Executive Order Number 20-112.

Notice under the Americans with Disabilities Act (Title II)
In accordance with Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Volusia County will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs and activities. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service or activity of the county, should contact the county’s ADA Title II coordinator, Michelle Leigh, at 386-248-1760 at least two business days before the scheduled event or meeting.
This notice also applies to written requests by a physically handicapped person needing a special accommodation to attend a public meeting in accordance with section 286.26, Florida Statutes.
