Volusia County to have COVID-19 briefing at 2 p.m. today

Volusia County will host a COVID-19 briefing at 2 p.m. today, Friday, June 26. Topics will include business resources, firework safety, a health update and a countywide “Step up, Volusia” campaign. The scheduled speakers are as follows:

  • Heather Edwards, Information Specialist, Volusia County Economic Development
  • Jeff Hussey, Deputy Fire Chief, Volusia County Fire Services
  • Captain Tammy Malphurs, Public Information Officer, Volusia County Beach Safety
  • Patricia Boswell, Administrator, Florida Department of Health in Volusia County

The briefing, which is open to the media, will take place at the Volusia County Emergency Operations Center, 3825 Tiger Bay Road in Daytona Beach. The briefing will be streamed live on the Volusia County Emergency Management Facebook page: www.facebook.com/VolusiaCountyEmergencyManagement/.
