Volusia County to have COVID-19 briefing on Thursday

Heading into one of the traditionally busiest holidays of the year, Volusia County will host a COVID-19 briefing at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 2. Topics will include beach and fireworks safety for the 4th of July weekend. Other topics will include COVID-19 health information as well as updates on the county’s coronavirus assistance programs. The scheduled speakers are as follows:
- Ed Kelley, Volusia County Chair
- Ray Manchester, Director, Volusia County Beach Safety
- Howard Bailey, Volusia County Fire Chief
- Brad Harris, Business Manager, Volusia County Economic Development
- Carmen Hall, Director, Volusia County Community Assistance
- Patricia Boswell, Administrator, Florida Department of Health in Volusia County
- Dr. Margaret Crossman, Chief Medical Officer, Halifax Health
The briefing, which is open to the media, will take place at the Volusia County Emergency Operations Center, 3825 Tiger Bay Road in Daytona Beach. The briefing will be streamed live on the Volusia County Emergency Management Facebook page: www.facebook.com/VolusiaCountyEmergencyManagement/.
