Meeting to address allocation of CDBG funds
Posted On: October 1, 2021
The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act has appropriated $5 billion in Community Development Block Grant-Coronavirus (CDBG-CV) funding nationwide to assist low-income families and most vulnerable citizens prepare for, prevent or respond to the health and economic impacts of COVID-19.
The County of Volusia is eligible for $653,841 through the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity’s CDBG-CV Entitlement Program. Volusia County is proposing an application requesting the full amount be submitted to the department for the construction of ADA accessible restrooms at Maytown Spur Trailhead in unincorporated Volusia County and Cow Creek Trailhead in Edgewater. The restrooms will cost approximately $700,000 to construct.
The public is invited to attend a virtual public meeting to discuss the proposed project at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12. Attendees may register for the meeting at https://tinyurl.com/27y6s9bk.

Residents and interested agencies are encouraged to attend the meeting and participate in discussions regarding the proposed project.
