Beach ramp closures extended

Posted On: March 23, 2020

Volusia County will keep all vehicular beach access ramps closed through the end of the day Thursday, March 26.

After careful evaluation and as a continued measure of crowd control and to favor the conditions for social distancing, ramps will remain closed for the majority of the week. Off-beach parking lots remain open.

These actions provide Volusia County Beach Safety staff the ability to manage beachgoers and maintain safety by enforcing the CDC’s guidelines. Beachgoers must continue to observe the enhanced guidelines put in place by Governor DeSantis. Rules include limiting groups to ten people or less and maintaining a 6-foot distance from all other groups.

The county continues to emphasize the importance of personal responsibility. The well-being and safety of the community depends on residents and visitors.

Conditions continue to remain dynamic. Plans will be evaluated daily and may be adjusted as necessary to protect the health and safety of our community.
