Funds for children and community programs
Grant funds are available for fiscal year 2019-20 programs in Volusia County that serve children and the community. The total funding available for unique public services is $79,567.
New applicants not currently receiving contingency funding must schedule and attend a training meeting by June 12, the meeting is a prerequisite for new agencies.

Applications are being accepted until 4:00 p.m. June 14.
All applicants must plan to attend the Children and Families Advisory Board meeting on July 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the IFAS Volusia County Extension Auditorium, located at 3100 E. New York Ave., DeLand, where board members will discuss and evaluate applications received.
Programs that serve the community and do not fit within the following categories are eligible to apply: services for persons with disabilities; infant and maternal health and early childhood; services to seniors ages 65 and over; non-school-hour services for school-age children, youth development, and academic services for adolescents ages 10 to 17; family-based intervention and counseling services; services to prevent or intervene in family issues; basic needs services (crisis services for persons that are homeless or are at risk of homelessness); or staff development and case management.
Organizations must be incorporated in the State of Florida and registered with the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services as a nonprofit tax-exempt organization and be able to demonstrate at least one year of successful service delivery. Additional criteria regarding eligible services, agency capacity, and financial stability are also applicable.
2019 Volusia County Summer Camp Scholarship Program

Summer camp scholarships are available to income-eligible children through Volusia County’s Community Assistance Division.
Families with children who are entering first through sixth grade and are between the ages of 5 and 12 may apply for scholarships. Students attending approved special needs camps up to 17 years old are also are eligible.
Scholarship awards are based on income-eligibility and will be awarded according to funding availability. This program offers eligible children partial scholarships to day camps during the seven-week program June 10 – July 26.
