Volusia County will accept applications from households that have been financially impacted by COVID-19. Rental assistance may be provided to eligible households for up to three months.
Assistance will be provided on a first-ready, first-served basis and a limited number of applications will be accepted based on funding availability.
Please refer to the information below. If you have additional questions they may be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org
Community Assistance has $1,250,662 available for rental assistance from Florida Housing Finance Corporation through an allocation of Coronavirus Relief Funds (CRF). This funding will be used to assist households with an additional three months of rental assistance if the household has already received an initial 3 months of rental assistance and has a previously approved vendor through the County CARES Rental Assistance program.
There are limited funds available, staff has prioritized previously assisted households based on potential level of crisis. This means households that received assistance for the months of April, May and June will be contacted first to determine if they are still experiencing a hardship due to COVID-19. Households receiving assistance for the months of May, June, and July will be contacted second, and if funding allows, those who received assistance for June, July and August will be contacted last. Funds are not available for mortgage assistance.
In addition, priority will be given to applicants who reside outside the city limits of Daytona Beach and Deltona (those cities are offering rental assistance to their residents). Assistance is provided only to clients living at the address that was initially assisted and who continue to have a COVID related hardship.
Community Assistance will notify households if they may be eligible. Assigned staff will work with these households to identify the required documentation and where to submit it electronically.
