Hurricane Housing Recovery Program

Volusia County received two Hurricane Housing Recovery Program (HHRP) allocations to provide housing assistance to residents impacted by Hurricane Ian or Nicole.

Program Information

Hurricane Disaster Recovery Program

Volusia County Community Assistance implements a disaster recovery program following a disaster as declared by an executive order by the President of the United States or the Governor of Florida.

Hurricane Disaster Recovery Program- Relocation Assistance

Applications are being accepted for Volusia County residents that were displaced as a direct result of Hurricane Ian or Nicole.

CDBG-DR Hurricane Matthew Housing Program 

Volusia County Community Assistance launched a disaster recovery housing program on June 8, 2019, to repair or replace homes damaged during Hurricane Matthew.

In an effort to assist homeowners whose homes were damaged during Hurricane Matthew and were still in need of repair or replacement, Volusia County Community Assistance applied for federal funds through the Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) to offer the Hurricane Matthew Housing Program to Volusia County residents.

The Hurricane Matthew Housing Program is funded with a $1,244,766 Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) grant awarded through DEO and up to $200,000 in Home Investment Partnership Program (HOME) funds.  Both are federal funding sources.

Programs and activities utilizing federal dollars are governed by the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR).  Further information about the regulations for these funding sources may be viewed by visiting:
