Volusia County residents and visitors can think globally and act locally during the 2020 International Coastal Cleanup and Halifax/Indian River Cleanup to be held over the weekend of Friday, September 18th through Sunday, September 20th. The Volusia County Environmental Management Division is looking for volunteers to remove trash from beaches, rivers, and parks. Registration will open August 3rd and close August 28th at 11:00 a.m. The first 1500 registered volunteers will receive a commerative clean up giveaway so register early for your site. All sites will have a maximum capacity and will be cut off when reached. If you need to adjust your numbers or location after you register, please call Volusia County Environmental Management at 386-736-5927 and speak to Danielle Ramsey or email VolunteerVolusia@volusia.org. This event will be held independently as there will be no site captains or check-ins due to social distancing requirements. You will simply choose a location when registering for the cleanup online, download the data collection app to your phone and show up at your desired time during the date window to conduct a clean-up.
