Business assistance topic of Thursday COVID-19 panel discussion

From grants for small businesses and home-based businesses to the upcoming distribution of free personal protective equipment in conjunction with local chambers of commerce, Volusia County has dedicated millions of dollars in relief funds to help the local business community recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. The county’s emergency assistance programs and how to qualify will be the topic of a live panel discussion at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 2.

The panelists will include:

  • Helga van Eckert, Director, Volusia County Economic Development
  • Debbie Connors, President, Port Orange-South Daytona Chamber of Commerce
  • Debbie Cotton, President, Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce

The panel discussion will be broadcast live on Volusia County Emergency Management’s Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/VolusiaCountyEmergencyManagement. The news media is welcome to attend and participate in the question-and-answer session. For members of the news media who wish to attend, the event will take place at the Volusia County Emergency Operations Center, 3825 Tiger Bay Road, Daytona Beach.
