Safety and Fitness for Fire Rescue
Fitness can be defined as the ability to complete tasks with alertness, energy for lesuire activities, and the capacity to tackle unforeseen emergencies. Fitness can be separated into two categories, aerobic and muscular. Both essential components of work capacity and both contribute to our health and safety.
Many of our firefighters train in the Fit Firefighter program. The fitness stations mimic real-life situations firefighters may encounter in the field and help increase their aerobic capacity, muscular strength and endurance.
