The Volusia County Artificial Reef Program has been in place since 1980. The program builds marine reef habitat on the continental shelf offshore Ponce de Leon Inlet by placing large concrete structures and steel ships at permitted locations on the seafloor. The reefs become home for a wide variety of marine life and the program supports the regional fishing, diving and boating industries.
Artificial reef locations: A comprehensive list of artificial reef site coordinates can be found on the above printable map and the interactive GIS map shown below.
Reef location coordinates are also listed on the Halifax Sport Fishing Club Offshore Fishing Chart that is available at many local retail tackle stores.
