The County of Volusia, with the support of our sponsors, are working with the community on an Affordable Housing Initiative. This has been broken into three parts, part one was a series of webinars to provide the audience with information and insight from leaders in the different industries. Visit the webinar page to watch the recordings. Part two was a summit that was held in person with a virtual option. More information and a recording of the summit is available on the summit's web page. Part three involved affinity groups made up of volunteers from the community that met to analyze affordable housing topics and make recommendations for an affordable housing plan. The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee submitted a draft plan to council for further direction. On July 19, 2022 the plan was accepted by county council. The plan and a 2-page summary of the main topics of the plan can be accessed using the link above.

County Property Appropriate for Affordable Housing

Volusia County maintains an inventory list of all real property within its jurisdiction to which the county holds fee simple title that is appropriate for use as affordable housing. The current list of properties was approved by resolution on April 4, 2023.

Affordable Housing Developers 

If you are a developer interested in working with Volusia County on a potential affordable housing project, please complete the initial contact form linked below. The form is intended to give county staff an overview of the project, so please add as much information as possible. If you have more than one project you would like to discuss, complete the form once for each project. Once the form is submitted, you will be contacted about scheduling an initial meeting.
