The naturalist staff and volunteers at Lyonia Environmental Center provide a vast array of educational programs - from camps, classroom programs to guided hikes - throughout the year.

 Day Camps

Are you looking for a fun, educational camp for your kids? Look no further! LEC offers week-long nature-themed camps for children ages 6 to 15. We have camp during winter, spring and summer breaks.

Homeschool programs

Homeschool Groups can book a field trip with a minimum of 10 students.  Groups can choose from  a variety of hands-on, interactive learning experiences that cover a broad range of environmental topics. A guided hike is included in these field trips. Our classrooms offer many resources to enhance your scientific learning experience.

Homeschool Families can join us for our monthly programs offered on-site at LEC and at other locations around the county. Scout programs

Our nature-based programs cover environmental science, conservation, bird studies, hiking and much more! LEC staff also can customize a program that will fit your needs. Click here for details.

Group tours

Whether you are a novice group of naturalists or seasoned explorers, we encourage all environmental enthusiasts to join us in learning about one of Florida’s unique ecosystems, the scrub. Our exceptional educational tours include in-depth discussions of the exhibits in the gallery, green elements of our LEED-certified building, and guided hikes in Lyonia Preserve. Tours are perfect for collegiate student groups, profit and not-for-profit organizations, Florida master naturalists, environmental clubs, and other groups.

School Field Trips

Your students can enjoy interpretive tours of the LEC Gallery and Lyonia Preserve. You can customize your day from a variety of programs. Programs usually last 2 to 2½ hours.
