Mission: To proactively use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to reduce nuisance mosquitoes and risk of mosquito-borne illness in Volusia County. To sustain quality of life, foster stewardship of the environment, provide stellar customer service, and support economic vitality for the community.
FREE TIRE DISPOSAL EVENTS
Reduce mosquitoes and dispose of your waste tires for free! Volusia County Mosquito Control is hosting three (3) free tire amnesty events at the locations listed below.
Volusia County residents can bring up to 20 tires (off the rim) to reduce mosquito habitats in their community.
Tires from commercial shops or businesses will not be accepted. Tires must be off the rim.
The events will be from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the dates and at the locations listed below.

The entrance to the event will be marked with flags and staff will be onsite to guide residents to a drive-thru drop-off route. Only residential tires will be accepted, and there is a limit of 20 tires without rims per household. There is no cost to drop off tires. Tires may not be dropped off outside of the designated event times.

How to Request Mosquito Service
Mosquito control services vary depending on your location:
- The primary service area is the East Volusia Mosquito Control District (EVMCD) which is based on an established taxing district where all property owners in the district pay a tax (separate item on the tax bill) for mosquito control services year-round. Residents in the taxing district can click here to submit a request for service online.
- Incorporated municipalities (Deltona, DeBary, Orange City, Lake Helen, DeLand, Pierson) located on the west side of the county have annual service contracts with Volusia County Mosquito Control that are limited by a fixed amount of funding. Residents in these city limits must contact their city representative listed below to request mosquito control service and the city must authorize the service prior to county delivery.

- Unincorporated areas outside of the EVMCD and not within a west-side city limit receive mosquito control services however, it is limited by a fixed amount of funding from the Municipal Service District (MSD). Residents in the MSD can click here to submit a request for service online.

Adulticide spray operations are planned daily based on surveillance data and not on a routine schedule. This online webmap shows both planned and recently completed spray operations. Click on the sprayed area in the map to see the exact treatment date. Planned operations will typically be updated by 3 p.m. each day.
