Talk to a Social Worker at the Library

Talking to a social worker just got easier. Through an innovative program called Social Workers in the Library, Volusia County’s social workers are providing one-on-one assistance and expert referrals in each of Volusia County’s 14 public library branches.

The social workers visit several branches each week to provide information and referrals to various programs and services, including WIC, SNAP, and employment resources. They also address housing, employment, health insurance, legal services, and substance abuse and mental health issues.

This service is a joint effort between Volusia County’s Community Assistance and Library Services divisions to increase accessibility to social services.
