New Coastal Parks Increases Beach Accessibility

Posted On: July 23, 2024

The Volusia County Council joined ECHO Advisory Committee members to celebrate the opening of the new Sun & Surf Park in Daytona Beach.

Located at 726 N. Atlantic Ave., the new park features 70 parking spaces, including five ADA parking spaces. The park also has an ADA-accessible beach ramp, enhancing beach access for residents and visitors. Additionally, amenities include showers, bike racks, and a 15-foot-wide beachfront boardwalk.

Funding for this project was partially provided by Volusia ECHO. The park is situated where the Sun & Surf Motel used to stand and was purchased by the County in 2015.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to use the Volusia Beaches app for additional information on off-beach parking, ramps, and walkovers.
