alt textVolusia County has once again been recognized as a certified Florida Green Local Government by the Florida Green Building Council, reaffirming the County's commitment to sustainable practices in governmental operations.

“This honor from the Florida Green Building Council showcases all of the work we do to ensure our county functions with sustainable practices,” stated Samantha West, Volusia County's sustainability and resilience manager. “We could not be prouder to hold this recognition and look forward to maintaining it for years to come.”

The certification recognizes Volusia County's dedication to sustainability across all operations. The accreditation process involved detailed departmental operations and the alignment of local ordinances with sustainability goals. After having initially received the honor in 2010, Volusia County diligently maintained the practices necessary for recertification and remains dedicated to upholding these standards.
