More than 100 friends and family members celebrated the life of the late Judge Steven C. Henderson as the Volusia County Council dedicated the former Volusia County Courthouse Annex to this incredible man on Aug. 15.
Judge Henderson received his law degree from Florida State University, then worked as a prosecutor for the 7th Judicial Circuit for eight years. He was appointed to a position as a county judge in 2012 and to a circuit judgeship in 2017, demonstrating a strong command of law and procedure as he presided over family law cases.
He was taken from us far too soon as he passed away in 2021. He’s survived by his wife of 25 years, Janet; his children, Jackson, Sadie, Audrey, Justin, Ty, and Chase; his parents, Gordon and Sue Henderson of Houston; and his sisters, Rachel Haas and Dianne Kersting of Denver and Laura Maddock of Houston.
