What are the benefits of the new virtual permit program?
Starting in January, vehicles with a virtual parking permit will be able to use multiple, automated beach access ramps. Each ramp will be equipped with LPR cameras that will read your license plate and automatically open the parking gate, allowing you to drive through onto the beach. There will be no more stickers affixed to the windshield, and registered residents will be able to drive on the beach without charge.
What is the nonresident on-beach parking fee for vehicles with no permit?
As of Oct. 1, the daily beach driving fee will increase to $30 per day, plus sales tax and any credit card fees, for unpermitted vehicles. For quicker access to parking and to enjoy the beach, we strongly urge nonresidents to apply online and purchase the new virtual parking permit. Volusia County residents should apply for their no-cost resident parking permit prior to parking.
What is the parking fee for off-beach parking for vehicles with no permit?
Effective Jan. 1, a parking fee of $20 per day (plus sales tax and any credit card fees) will be charged to park in any of the Park Volusia designated parking lots. Properly permitted vehicles will not have to pay the daily fee. County residents should apply for their annual no-cost parking permit before parking. Vehicles parked without a permit or daily fee payment will receive a parking violation on their windshield or in the mail. A $50 fine will be assessed for each violation.
Can I purchase an annual permit at Volusia beach entrance ramps?
No. Residents with annual parking permits will no longer be able to be purchase permits at beach entrance ramps. Annual permits can be purchased only online, on the Volusia County Beaches app, or by visiting a Park Volusia office during business hours. Daily passes can be purchased at beach entrance ramps.
Will I have to renew my permit annually?
Yes! Park Volusia resident and nonresident beach parking permits must be renewed annually. Online applications make the process quick and easy, provided you have the proper documentation.
