Register Vehicles for Complimentary Beach Driving and Off-Beach Parking

Posted On: January 2, 2025

Take advantage of a new perk provided by the Volusia County Council! Residents can now enjoy complimentary beach driving and free parking in County-owned off-beach lots. All you have to do is register your vehicle with the ParkVolusia program! Nearly 40,000 residents have already registered.

Volusia County owns and operates more than 60 off-beach parking lots, which are marked with ParkVolusia signage. Larger lots will be equipped with automatic license plate readers to verify registrations and daily fee payments, while smaller lots will be monitored by mobile enforcement officers. Vehicles parked without proper registration or payment will be issued a parking violation notice on their windshield or by mail. A fine will be assessed in addition to the $20 daily parking fee.

Parking in any County-owned and operated off-beach parking lot between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. is prohibited for all, including ParkVolusia registrants. Violations may result in penalties.

How to Purchase a Parking or Beach Driving Pass

Daily parking passes can be purchased at all lots by following the instructions on the ParkVolusia signage and in kiosks in some of the larger lots. Annual passes must be obtained online or in person at a ParkVolusia office.

To register a vehicle or find a County-owned and operated off-beach parking lot, visit www.parkvolusia.org. For in-person assistance, residents can visit or call one of the following ParkVolusia offices:

  • 2422 S. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach Shores: Open from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Call  386-217-0078.
  • 302 North Causeway, New Smyrna Beach: Open from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 386-217-0216.

ParkVolusia registration does not cover complimentary access to Lighthouse Point Park and Smyrna Dunes Park. Residents can purchase an annual pass through their ParkVolusia account or pay the daily entrance fee upon arrival.

Nonresidents can purchase an annual pass for $100. This pass allows unlimited parking in County-owned and operated lots for 365 days from the date of purchase.

City Parking Lots

ParkVolusia permits will not be valid in off-beach parking lots and boat ramps owned by a city. This exclusion includes:

  • 27th Street Oceanfront Park,  New Smyrna Beach
  • Flagler Avenue Oceanfront Park, New Smyrna Beach
  • Esther Street Oceanfront Park, New Smyrna Beach
  • Grayce Barck North Beach Community Park, New Smyrna Beach
  • Marianne Clancy Park, New Smyrna Beach
  • North Causeway Boat Ramp, New Smyrna Beach
  • Swoop Boat Ramp, New Smyrna Beach
  • Breakers Oceanfront Park, Daytona Beach

Residents should contact their city government for information on fees in these city lots.

Nonresidents

For nonresidents planning to use County-owned and -operated off-beach parking lots, an annual off-beach parking pass is available for purchase and is separate from the beach driving pass. Without this annual pass, a daily fee of $20 will be charged. (DOES THIS INCLUDE DRIVING ON THE BEACH?)
