Paws Up for Volusia's Newest Dog-Friendly Paradise!

Posted On: December 8, 2025

alt textTails were wagging and sandy paws were everywhere on Dec. 3 when Volusia County celebrated the opening of its fourth dog-friendly beach. Dozens of four-legged beachgoers and their humans turned out to mark the occasion at University Boulevard Beach Park, 834 N. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach.

Now your furry best friend can join you for sunrise strolls and sunset romps along 1.7 miles of beautiful shoreline between the Williams Avenue and Seabreeze Boulevard approaches. Just remember to keep your pup leashed and visit during daylight hours.

Getting there is a breeze with six vehicle ramps, nearly 300 off-beach parking spaces, and two pedestrian walkovers. Whether you're a local looking for a new weekend adventure or a visitor who couldn't bear to leave Fido at home, this beach has you covered.

This addition brings Volusia County's total dog-friendly beach count to four, joining the permanent Ormond Beach Dog Beach (which earned its permanent status earlier this year) and the beloved spots at Lighthouse Point Park and Smyrna Dunes Park.
