Get Ready: Hurricane Expo Returns April 18 at Daytona International Speedway
Posted On: March 31, 2026
With the 2026 hurricane season less than two months away, Volusia County is giving residents – and county employees – a chance to get a head start on preparedness. The annual Hurricane Expo returns Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the pavilion area of the Daytona International Speedway, 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd.
The free, family-friendly event has become one of the community's most popular preparedness resources, drawing more than 1,500 attendees last year. Behind the scenes, Emergency Management staff has spent months coordinating with the Volusia County Organizations Active in Disasters (COAD) to make this year's expo bigger and better than ever.
Attendees can explore exhibits covering emergency alerts, evacuation planning, and property protection, with the opportunity to connect face-to-face with local emergency response teams and community partners. More than 50 vendors, community organizations, and government agencies will be on site offering products, services, and information to support storm readiness. Giveaways will be offered throughout the day, and food will be available for purchase.
The expo also features live safety demonstrations, educational presentations, and guest speakers sharing guidance on staying safe during hurricane season. Families with children will enjoy the popular Touch-A-Truck experience, where kids can get up close with fire, EMS, law enforcement, and utility vehicles.
Whether you're a longtime Florida resident or newer to the area, the Hurricane Expo is a great opportunity to make sure your household is ready before storms threaten. Employees are encouraged to attend – and to spread the word to family, friends, and neighbors.
