Breaking Ground, Building Forward: New Fire Station 15 Will Strengthen Emergency Response
Posted On: April 2, 2026
Volusia County Fire Rescue welcomed county officials and community partners to a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Fire Station 15, located at 1159 Red John Road in Daytona Beach. The event marked the official start of construction on a modern facility designed to enhance emergency response capabilities and expand fire service training opportunities countywide.
The new station will span more than 12,000 square feet – a significant upgrade from the current Station 15, which operates within the County's Fire Training Center. The new facility will include dedicated living quarters with bunk rooms and a day room, bays for emergency vehicles, and operational space designed to support a full-service fire rescue station. Construction is expected to be completed early next year.
Beyond improving conditions for the crews who staff it around the clock, the new station will benefit the broader community in an important way: By relocating Station 15, the Fire Training Center will have room to expand its programming. Those expanded programs are expected to draw fire service professionals from across Florida and the nation, reinforcing Volusia County's reputation as a regional hub for fire service training.
Station 15 serves unincorporated Volusia County and the Daytona Beach area, providing fire suppression and emergency medical services. The station is also home to the County's Hazardous Materials Response Team, which responds to incidents throughout the county.
