Ocean Center hosts inaugural Women’s Daytona Beach Invitational

The Ocean Center will welcome some of the best Women’s Division I Basketball teams in the country on Nov. 29th and 30th. 

The inaugural event, organized by Destination Basketball, takes place over two days and features 10 teams, seven of which compete at the BCS level. Over the two-day period, each team will play two games, which will count toward their season and overall records.

The following games will take place at the Ocean Center.

Friday, Nov. 29
?    11 a.m. – Georgia vs. Butler
?    1:15 p.m. – Belmont vs. Virginia Tech
?    3:30 p.m. – Ohio vs. Pittsburgh
?    5:45 p.m. – Clemson vs. Maryland
?    8 p.m. – Ole Miss vs. Alcorn State

Saturday, Nov. 30
?    11 a.m. – Butler vs. Ohio
?    1:15 p.m. – Virginia Tech vs. Georgia
?    3:30 p.m. – Maryland vs. Belmont
?    5:45 p.m. – Pittsburgh vs. Ole Miss
?    8 p.m. – Alcorn State vs. Clemson

The University of Maryland Terrapins, coached by Brenda Frese, is currently ranked No. 9 in the country. The Terrapins were picked by the Big Ten head coaches and league’s media panel to win the conference title this season. 

Tickets, which will be sold at the door, cost $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children 13 and under will receive free entry. All NCAA passes will be honored.
