Local Mitigation Strategy Committee to meet March 18

Volusia Prepares, the Local Mitigation Strategy Committee, will conduct its quarterly meeting at 9 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Volusia County Lifeguard Headquarters, 515 S. Atlantic Ave., Daytona Beach.

The committee was developed to decrease vulnerability to the residents, governments, businesses and institutions of Volusia County from the future human, economic and environmental costs of natural, technological and societal disasters. Members monitor, implement and maintain a comprehensive plan for hazard mitigation.

This meeting is open to the public and will address mitigation news, activities and projects within the community.
