Celtic music coming to New Smyrna Beach Library

Posted On: March 9, 2020

With equal measure of Scottish swagger and homespun charm, Matthew Gurnsey – known on stage as The Kilted Man – regales his audiences with tales of wayward voyages and unrequited love woven into traditional Celtic music. On Wednesday, March 25 at 2 p.m., Gurnsey will bring his distinctive brand of entertainment to the New Smyrna Beach Regional Library.

The Scottish-born Gurnsey delights audiences of all ages with his rousing performances of traditional Irish and Scottish music. Gurnsey mixes his rich bass voice and beautiful melodies with his mastery of traditional Celtic instruments such as the concertina, bodhran, bones and mandolin to bring an air of authenticity to each performance.

The library is located at 1001 S. Dixie Freeway. More information can be obtained by calling the library at 386-424-2910.
