County Council plans special meeting April 14

The Volusia County Council will have a special meeting at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, to discuss COVD-19 related matters, which may include, but not be limited to, updates on County activities, the adoption or approval of emergency ordinances, contracts, resolutions and directives. Live Audio and Video of the meeting are remotely accessible at www.volusia.org/livemeeting. Council members may participate in this meeting remotely, consistent with the Governor’s Executive Order 20-69, Local Government Public Meetings.

During this time of extraordinary circumstances dealing with the Declared Emergency associated with COVID-19, the public will not be allowed to attend the meeting in person.  In lieu of in person public participation, the County is temporarily transitioning to online public participation comments for Council meetings consistent with the goals of the Governor’s Executive Order 20-91, Essential Services and Activities during the COVID-19 Emergency.

The Public Comment form can be located at www.volusia.org/comments.  Please follow the directions on the form to ensure submission.  The Public Comment form will be open until the end of the County Council meeting.  Comments submitted prior to 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2020, will be provided to the council before the meeting.  Any comments submitted after 5:00 p.m. Monday, April 13, 2020 but before the conclusion of the County Council meeting are not guaranteed to be considered by the Council, but will be provided to the Council at the end of the meeting. All public comment submissions will be included in the official meeting records held by the Deputy Clerk, County of Volusia.

If you have issues with the virtual public participation form, or require assistance or other reasonable accommodation, please contact comments@volusia.org or the Deputy Clerk’s Office at 386-736-5920.

As always, the meeting will be livestreamed at www.volusia.org/livemeeting.
