Volusia County to have COVID-19 briefing at 2 p.m. today

Volusia County will host a COVID-19 briefing at 2 p.m. today, Friday, May 29, to address the next phase of reopening of Volusia County government facilities and services. The scheduled speakers are as follows: 

•    Ed Kelley, Volusia County Chair
•    Barbara Girtman, Volusia County Council, District 1
•    Sheriff Mike Chitwood
•    Derrick Henry, Mayor, Daytona Beach
•    Craig Capri, Police Chief, Daytona Beach
•    James V. Chisholm, City Manager, Daytona Beach
•    Dona Butler, Director, Volusia County Community Services
•    Patricia Boswell, Administrator, Florida Department of Health in Volusia County

Two or more County Council members will be attending today’s briefing, which will take place at the Volusia County Emergency Operations Center, 3825 Tiger Bay Road, Daytona Beach. The briefing is open to the news media and will be streamed live on the Volusia County Emergency Management Facebook page:
