Volusia County to have news briefing at 2 p.m. today

Volusia County will host a news briefing at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 15. Officials will discuss the upcoming Biketoberfest event, as well as provide a COVID-19 update. Speakers will include:

  • Jim Judge, director, Volusia County Emergency Management
  • Sheriff Mike Chitwood, Volusia Sheriff’s Office
  • Chief Craig Capri, Daytona Beach Police Department
  • Dr. Joe Smith, chief medical officer, AdventHealth DeLand
  • Holly Smith, communications manager and government liaison, Florida Department of Health in Volusia County

The briefing, which is open to the media, will take place at the Volusia County Emergency Operations Center, 3825 Tiger Bay Road in Daytona Beach. The briefing will be streamed live on the Volusia County Emergency Management Facebook page at www.facebook.com/VolusiaCountyEmergencyManagement/.
