Most people immediately think of birds and alligators when discussing Florida’s wildlife, and while it’s true we have plenty of both, we also have a wide variety and interesting population of mammals. In part one of a three-part wildlife series, local author Marcia Meara will talk about some of our most common backyard visitors, and some of the lesser known species of squirrel that call central Florida home. The presentation will take place at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at DeBary Hall Historic Site, 198 Sunrise Blvd.
When not writing, she spends her time gardening and enjoying the birds in her suburban yard. Her belief in the redemptive power of love is a unifying factor in her haunting Blue Ridge Mountain and Riverbend series.
