County Council members to attend FDOT meeting

Two or more members of the Volusia County Council may attend a public hearing hosted by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3.
The meeting will address safety improvements on State Road A1A from Milsap Road to Granada Boulevard. The proposed project would include pedestrian mid-block crossings and raised medians with designated left turn lanes.
FDOT is offering multiple ways for the community to participate in the hearing. All participants, regardless of platform they choose, will participate in the same live hearing.
· Virtual option: Interested persons may join the virtual public hearing from a computer, tablet or mobile device. For this option, advance registration is required by visiting https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/6612125789951617803. Once registered, participants will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the hearing online. Internet Explorer cannot be used to register or attend this webinar.
· Phone option: Participants may also join the hearing in listen-only mode by dialing 877-309-2071 and entering the passcode 791-322-777. Callers may submit comments directly to FDOT Project Manager Gene Varano at 386-943-5145 or gene.varano@dot.state.fl.us.
· In-person option: Participants may attend in person by going to the Ormond Beach Performing Arts Center, 399 N. U.S. 1, Ormond Beach. FDOT requests advance registration for this option to ensure all attendees are accommodated safely and according to social distancing guidelines. To register for the in-person option, contact Varano. Attendees will be asked to follow all safety and sanitation guidelines and adhere to any local ordinances. Those who are not feeling well should not attend the in-person hearing.
