Posted On: February 17, 2021
So, you’ve never heard of an epiphyte? Just look at the Spanish moss hanging from your trees. Epiphytes are nonparasitic plants, such as orchids and ferns, that grow on other plants. Learn more about these unusual plants with Master Naturalist Holly Giles at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 13, at DeBary Hall Historic Site, 198 Sunrise Blvd., DeBary.
Join Giles on a guided walk around the grounds of DeBary Hall in search of moss, lichen and ferns as she discusses their interesting features.
Giles is a docent at DeBary Hall. She has published works about using nature and community resources to learn more about where you live.
Participants should bring bottled water and sunscreen. Attendance is limited and advance registration is required; call 386-668-3840 to make reservations.
