Author to discuss Civil War novel

Every story has a backstory. “Time Will Tell: The Awakening” is no different. Author Larry French will share the interesting journey he took to bring this novel to publication at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at DeBary Hall Historic Site, 198 Sunrise Blvd., DeBary.
French has a passion for relating and preserving history. That’s the reason he chose the pivotal war between the states for the backdrop of his second publication. Find out how this historical fiction book came to be and how it ties into local history. Also, learn about the challenges a writer faces in today’s political atmosphere and present-day marketing of publications.
French has an extensive background and knowledge of Florida. He has been a living history reenactor for over 45 years and wrote the book, “Grand Hotels of West Volusia County.” He is a lifetime member and former executive director of the West Volusia Historical Society, and a board member of the Enterprise Preservation Society.
