Pest control and dealing with Florida heat

During this free presentation with Howard Jeffries, home gardeners can learn how to cope with Florida’s erratic weather and pests at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 1, in DeBary Hall Historic Site’s theater, 198 Sunrise Blvd., DeBary.
Jeffries, a master gardener with the University of Florida/Volusia County Extension, will offer tips on dealing with insects, nematodes and weeds and discuss natural pest control and plant scouting. He will also provide tips to keep your lawn and garden alive during drought and the intense summer heat.
