Posted On: June 17, 2021
Join Master Naturalist Holly Giles as she cooks up signature dishes from the 1800s that were once served at DeBary Hall at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, July 10, at DeBary Hall Historic Site, 198 Sunrise Blvd., DeBary.
Quail was on the daily menu in the kitchen of Aunt Lizzie, Frederick deBary’s cook, along with hominy grits and corn cakes. Giles, a docent at DeBary Hall, will share her take on modern-day quail hunting and use her cast iron skillet for cooking up samples of delicacies enjoyed by the deBary family.
