Openings available on Historic Preservation Board
Posted On: July 12, 2021
If history’s your thing, you might want to apply for one of five open positions on Volusia County’s Historic Preservation Board.
Members are appointed by the Volusia County Council to issue certificates of designation for eligible historic structures, archaeological sites and historic districts, as well as certificates of appropriateness for demolition, alteration, relocation and new construction.
The board also advises the County Council on matters related to historic preservation policy, including use, management and maintenance of county-owned historic resources. It’s composed of nine members who serve two-year terms.
Applicants should have the expertise necessary to accomplish the board's objectives, a reputation for integrity and community service, and an interest or experience in historic preservation.
Members will be selected by the Volusia County Council. Applications and more information are available at www.volusia.org/advisory.
For information about the duties and responsibilities of advisory boards, contact Deputy Clerk Karissa Green at kgreen@volusia.org or 386-736-5920, ext. 12613.
