Florida’s scavengers: Vultures and crested caracaras
Posted On: September 20, 2021
Most of us know vultures have an essential job to do, but did you ever wonder why they need to be so unattractive while going about it? Join local author Marcia Meara to learn more about both of the vulture species native to Florida at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at DeBary Hall Historic Site, 198 Sunrise Blvd.
Meara will also discuss a less familiar bird that often performs similar functions yet manages to look a lot more attractive while doing so.
Meara has published seven novels, two novellas and one book of poetry, all available on Amazon. Meara will also be available for a book signing after the presentation.
Advance registration is requested; to make a reservation, call 386-668-3840 or email lperez@volusia.org.
