Master gardeners to dish the dirt

Volusia County’s master gardeners will share their research-based knowledge and personal love of gardening during free presentations in January.

  • Master Gardener Pat LeClaire will provide tips on growing antique roses from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, at the DeLand Regional Library, 130 E. Howry Ave.

  • Master Gardener Howard Jeffries will address Florida friendly landscapes from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at DeBary Hall Historic Site,198 Sunrise Blvd., DeBary; and 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 8, at the Deltona Regional Library, 2150 Eustace Ave.

  • Master Gardener Vivian Bowden will present gardening Florida style from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Jan. 13, at the Environmental Discovery Center, 601 Division Ave., Ormond Beach. Attendees may bring their sick plants for a diagnosis and care plan.
  • Local beekeeper Jack Dunlap will offer an introduction to beekeeping from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Jan. 12, at the Environmental Discovery Center, 601 Division Ave., Ormond Beach.
  • Learn how to care for your houseplants with Master Gardener Evelyn Shapiro from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, at the Port Orange Regional Library, 1005 City Center Circle.
