DeLand library offers financial literacy programs

Are you ready to get money smart? The DeLand Regional Library is offering three programs for Financial Literacy Month. Learn about elder law, your credit score and identity theft during these free programs.
Attorneys Sherri Akin, Wendy Mara and Brittany Green Gloersen will discuss Elder Law at 10 a.m. Monday, April 11, in the library classroom. They will cover important elder law issues to help you become more informed and ready to take the next step in your planning.
Curious about your credit score? Get your questions answered at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, in the library classroom. This educational seminar will cover factors that negatively impact credit scores, how to improve your score and more.
The Community Service Unit with the DeLand Police Department will present Beware of Identity Theft at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 14, in the library auditorium. This program will address the problem of identity theft, how it works, what to do if you become a victim, and ways to prevent it from happening.
