Learn about plasma physics at Ormond library

Posted On: April 11, 2022

We all know solids, liquids and gases are states of matter. But did you know plasma is the fourth state of matter? Plasma, in case you didn’t know, is superheated matter – so hot that the electrons are ripped away from the atoms, forming an ionized gas. It comprises over 99% of the visible universe.

Learn more about plasma during a free program at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at the Ormond Beach Regional Library, 30 S. Beach St. Dr. Byonghoon Seo, an assistant professor of physics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, will discuss laboratory plasma experiments for studying the sun.

Reservations are not required. For more information, call the library at 386-676-4191.
