Did you know Florida has more species of snakes than any other state?
Dr. Coleman Sheehy, collection manager for herpetology at the Florida Museum, will give a virtual presentation about some of the common species found in Florida at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, at the Deltona Regional Library, 2150 Eustace Ave. Patrons can watch the presentation in the library.
He’ll give pointers on identifying venomous vs. nonvenomous snakes, discuss their natural history, and share tips on staying safe when interacting with an unknown snake.
Registration is not required for this free presentation. For more information, call the library at 386-789-7207.
