Another amenity is soon opening at Chuck Lennon Park. Nature enthusiasts will have a one-mile hiking trail to explore Volusia County’s lush landscape and take a walk down to a scenic seep.
The Volusia County Council will cut the ribbon for the new hiking trail at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at 5000 Greenfield Dairy Road, DeLeon Springs. Parking will be available on-site.
The route features trail markers and safety indicators along the path. The project was initiated to help reduce the amount of foot traffic on the existing mountain bike trail at Chuck Lennon.
“Completion of the Chuck Lennon Hiking Trail is exciting for our visitors of the park. The addition will keep parkgoers safe and give our residents another reason to get outside and enjoy Volusia County,” said Volusia County Parks, Recreation and Culture Director Tim Baylie.

Two or more members of the Volusia County Council plan to attend.
